Plaquex and Chelation Therapy FAQs
Functional Medicine to Improve Cell Function
Plaquex and Chelation therapies are different types of IV treatment that serve as functional medicine to improve cell function. Chelation Therapy focuses on removing plaque and poisonous heavy metals from the body to improve blood flow and cell function.
Plaquex Therapy aids the body in removing plaque from blood vessels and fat from the fatty liver. It also lowers cholesterol and improves organ function. Over time cell membranes become damaged. Plaquex treatments work to replace damaged PC in cell membranes and aid cells in returning to normal function.
Patients have many questions when considering which treatment is right for them. We’ve compiled some of our most frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t covered here, we’d be glad to meet with you for a consultation and address any questions you may have.
Can Plaquex and Chelation Be Administered at Same the Time?
No. Chelation contains a salt-based solution, while Plaquex contains a simple sugar compound. Plaquex saponifies when mixed in saline. For this reason, Plaquex and Chelation solutions can never be combined in the same IV bag. However, they can be administered on the same day as long they are in different infusion bags and not administered simultaneously.
Can Plaquex and Chelation Treatments Be Alternated?
Yes. The recommended ratio of alternating treatments is 2 Plaquex treatments to 1 Chelation treatment. The balance of treatments for patients with severe heavy metal load is 1 Plaquex to 1 Chelation.
What is the Recommended Dosage For Plaquex?
The recommended dosage for IV Plaquex treatments varies based on patient demographics, such as weight and background. For example:
- Adults up to 100 lbs usually receive up to 40 ccs of Plaquex.
- Adults over 100 lbs generally receive up to 50 ccs of Plaquex.
- Some patients receive two separate treatments of 25-30 ccs of Plaquex. For example, Asian patients experience extreme fatigue after receiving higher doses of Plaquex.
What Are the Side Effects of Plaquex IV Treatment?
Although adverse side effects are minimal, patients have reported:
- Diarrhea (mainly in patients with high calcium levels, after receiving daily treatments, or who have had their gall bladder removed.
- Transient elevation of LDL and liver enzymes at the beginning of treatment, which generally normalizes with continued treatment;
- Fatigue
- Vein irritation
Can Plaquex® Oral Be Combined With Plaquex® IV Treatment?
Plaquex Oral is not as effective as Plaquex Formula given intravenously. Only 10-30% of the oral dose enters the bloodstream, compared to 100% of the intravenous dose. Therefore, Plaquex Oral may be used to help to maintain the results achieved by Plaquex IV treatments. This may improve lipid levels and blood flow.
How Should Plaquex Be Stored?
Plaquex requires refrigeration but should never be frozen. To avoid having a cloudy mixture, each dose should be brought to room temperature about one hour before mixing the solution.
Will Removing Plaque from Arteries Using Plaquex Cause a Stroke?
No. Plaquex works on a metabolic/biochemical level, increasing LCAT, an enzyme to increase cholesterol uptake by HDL from artery walls.
Questions to Ask Your Plaquex Provider:
Do You Use Plaquex® Brand Treatments or A Generic PC?
Plaquex® is a legal, registered trademark from AnazaoHealth® in Las Vegas, Nevada. If a provider advertises the Plaquex® brand, they cannot use a generic PC without informing the patient. Plaquex is a legal compound in the United States registered for office use.
